About the Artist
Denise Fletcher, an award winning jewelry designer and bench jeweler, began working with silver and gold jewelry in 2003 when she left the corporate world. A graduate of Nyack College in New York, she holds a B.S. degree in Management. Denise developed her skills in metalwork at The Kirk Newman Art School located within The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.
Years of experimentation and additional courses at The Metalwerx School for Jewelry in Massachusetts led Denise to continue to expand her metalsmith skills in the jewelry field. Studying her favorite gemstone at the Gemological Institute of America in NYC resulted in earning a Graduate Diamonds Diploma.
Unique, sculptural and contemporary. The use of silver, gold, gems, texture and patina on metal combine to yield elegant, updated, hand fabricated jewelry. Using form, texture, and movement, she presents jewelry that is simple and striking in appearance, yet interesting and complex upon further investigation, and above all – compelling to wear in everyday life.
Denise primarily uses sterling silver, 14K and 18K gold while incorporating precious gems to create elegant, wearable art for the modern world.
